2020 Young Alumni Who's Who Winners















Sarah Allen, '04 Sarah is a marketing professional specializing in the outdoor industry. She began her career 18 years ago after graduating from CMU. She spent 6 years as a Director of Marketing and Communications at Powderhorn Mountain Resort, and then transitioned into Director of Marketing for a local agency in Grand Junction, before taking her most current position as the Global Marketing Manager for Mountain Racing Products (MRP). She has consistently been a proven leader in the area of marketing and communications in all of her endeavors and achieved an average of 20% revenue growth rate for her organizations. Her passion and love for the outdoors has been showcased throughout her career positions. MRP also supports the CMU cycling team in which Sarah is the point of contact for the organization and CMU. She continues as a guest speaker for CMU events or marketing classes as well as the Master Plan Ministries Group on campus. Sarah truly embodies what it means to be a Maverick in leading the way for women in outdoor recreation and marketing.

Katie Hilborn, '06 Graduating with a Mass Communications degree with Public Relations and a emphasis in TV Production, Katie took a unique career path. She is the founder and CEO of Global Orphan Prevention. A nonprofit that prevents the abduction of children for purposes of the orphan trade and sex trafficking through empowerment, economic development, and education. They operate in Denver and Nepal. Currently they are building an Empowerment Center & Dormitory in Ghangphedi Nepal to reduce the 25% of adolescent girls that are trafficked annually and sold to Indian brothels. In Denver, they host Mountain Empowerment Camps for teen girls in the foster care system who are at-risk for being sex trafficked. Since the founding of her organization in 2011, Katie has coordinated and inspired people to aid her in humanitarian work totaling over 35,000 volunteer hours. 90% of revenue this company makes goes directly to support the programs and people Global Orphan Prevention serves. Katie has consistently been awarded the "Top Rated Nonprofit Award" from GreatNonprofits each year since 2015.

Joey Kercher, '05 Joey has been in marketing for 15 years with brands across the nation. His list includes NFL, State Farm, Facebook, Lyft, Adidas, Ford, and Naked Juice. In this process, he built Air Fresh Marketing which helps businesses find a personal connection with their customers by giving out of box ideas and resources for economic growth. His company has grown to include offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. Joey continues to give back to CMU by helping students with resources and tools for their futures. He met his wife, Devyn at CMU. She was an athlete while participating in the nursing program. Joey is a wonderful representation of a great CMU education. 



Jason Schofield, '05 Since graduating, with a Bachelor's of Business Administration, Jason has spent a significant amount of his career working with the Colorado Avalanche and created the Colorado Avalanche Amateur Hockey Development department. This work has contributed to a 20% annual increase in hockey participation in the state of Colorado since 2015, including growth in youth, women's, sled, and blind hockey. Jason also established the Mile High Mites program, which provides access to equipment, ice times, and instruction to families across the state. He has raised over $3.5 million for the growth and development of youth hockey in Colorado and continues to create fundraising events, such as the Avs 5k, renovate street hockey rinks, and support local hockey communities.
